Hand modelled seal made from white stoneware. Bisque fired then smoke fired with seaweed from Aberdeen beach, dried coffee filters, sugar, cornflour and salt. With sawdust and sticks. Then buffed with museum wax to give a subtle sheen. 
Each seal is modelled by hand without the use of moulds and the smoke firing gives each a different finish. No two are alike.
